From the 17th to the 20th centuries, Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment. Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum, a poignant reminder of the price paid for freedom. The excursion includes a return ferry to the island, a bus tour on the island and of the prison. 240 minutes
Bo-kaap, Cape Town Central, South Africa Upon return to the mainland, enjoy a drive through Bo-Kaap to discover how the Malay slaves influenced the culture, food and aesthetics of this beautiful city and its people. In the heart of the city enjoy for a short walk through the Company Gardens. From squirrels to a variety of plant life, it’s just a happy place to soak up some ‘Cape Town vibes’ and enjoy the aviaries and fishponds. On the Wale Street end of the garden you will find a monument which was created to commemorate the life and work of Desmond Tutu – lovingly referred to by South Africans as “The Arch” and a tribute to the values of the South African Constitution. Arch for Arch was installed beside historic St. George's Cathedral aka “People’s Cathedral” for its role in the resistance against apartheid. My husband and I took the Private Full Day Robben Island & CIty tour during our South African honeymoon. Our tour guide, James, was so knowledgeable as he led us around the city. The Robben Island tour was sobering and informative, and a must do when in Cape Town. Our driving tour covered many interesting neighborhoods, and included stops at the Company Gardens and the Castle of Good Hope.

OBS: pularam o Castle of Good Hope pois falaram que não daria tempo, e estava no roteiro. Em resumo, não gostei e não indico. Sugiro que turistas façam estes pontos turísticos sozinhos, pois é super fácil e não vão gastar R1500,00, apenas os ingressos.

I travelled to Capetown for my birthday this past May. I purchased the Robben Island and City Center Full Day Tour and I must say that my guide, Marc Anthony, was phenomenal. He was prompt and friendly. He has extensive knowledge of Capetown and it's history. I enjoyed learning about South Africa and conversing with him. Although I was travelling alone I never felt vulnerable with Marc and I know that this is in large part due to Marc's knowledge of Capetown and effortless pleasant attitude that he carried to every place and to every one we met. I cant praise him enough!Thank you Marc! Thank you Ilios!
